Wild Bactrian camels are among the rarest mammals on Earth, fewer than a thousand remaining in the remote deserts of Mongolia and China.
They survive in one of the harshest environments imaginable—scorching summers, freezing winters, almost no water. They can drink saltwater that would kill most animals, and they can go months without drinking at all, their humps storing fat that sustains them.
They travel in small herds, loose family groups that migrate vast distances following seasonal resources.
They’re gentle with each other, protective of calves, enduring because they move together.
They remind us that survival in impossible places is possible. You can adapt to harshness without becoming hard. Rarity makes you precious, not less worthy.
Stay wild,
Chris
