They’re often seen in pairs or small groups, gliding gracefully through coral reefs in the Indo-Pacific.
Moorish idols are grazers, feeding on sponges and algae, and their feeding behavior helps maintain the health of coral reefs by preventing overgrowth that can smother corals.
They’re also known for their loyalty to their reef homes, often returning to the same areas day after day.
While they can be territorial with other Moorish idols, they coexist peacefully with most other reef species.
They’re a reminder that you can protect your space and still share the world with grace. Beauty and boundaries can exist together.
